You can begin this project with a trip to a general or dollar store. Many of these stores carry plain and simple flip-flops in a variety of colors for very inexpensive prices. You can end your craft trip with a visit to a craft store such as Joann's, Michaels or Hobby Lobby to pick up fake flowers, glitter, puff paint, flat beads and a hot glue pack (includes glue and hot glue gun).

When you are ready to begin designing your flip-flops, it would be wise to set up on a tall table with plenty of space. Lay out plain, brown paper and place all your tools and accessories, including the hot glue gun, on top of this area. Place the hot glue gun in the middle of the table within clear sight close to a plug in order for it to warm up properly.

Begin by choosing a flower, set of beads and glitter all in the same color family. Use the puffy paint to outline the flower to create a 3D effect on the flower. Use plain Elmer's glue to coat the bands of the flip-flop, and then sprinkle glitter over them. You can also add glitter to the edges of the flip-flop using this same technique. Tap the extra glitter off the flip-flop and back into the jar. Choose four beads and place two evenly spaced apart on each band. Use the hot glue gun to glue them in place. Finally, place a dab of hot glue in the center of the straps on each flip-flop, and secure the fake flower in place.

Tips & Warnings
Keep your space very organized in order to ensure the flip-flops stay pristine and do not get damaged.
Use EXTREME caution when using the hot glue gun. This machine can cause serious burns. Keep it away from the skin and away from children.
