How to Perform the Moonwalk
Still one of the most recognizable dance moves ever, the moonwalk has spawned many imitators, but there have been few equals. It is still just as impressive, and it gets maybe even more of a reaction today as it did when it started. Most people immediately think that there is no way they could do that themselves. However, the moonwalk is a very simple dance step to learn.

Locate a smooth floor to practice this dance move.

Wear a pair of socks or shoes with smooth or worn bottoms. You should be able to slide freely without getting stuck by the floor.

Place your feet about 1 foot apart.

Position your right foot a step in front of your left, keeping them the same distance apart established in Step 3.

Start with your right heel up off of the ground. Your left foot should remain flat.

Slide your right foot back about a step's length away from your left foot. It is very important that, as soon as your right heel hits the ground, your left heel comes up.

Repeat step 6. However, for this move, your left foot slides back, and your right heel should rise.

Use your head and arms to add to the illusion of motion. Bob your head forward and back as your perform the dance. Swing your arms. Don't just leave them at your side.

If done properly, you feet will never come off of the ground.
