Things You'll Need:
- Paint brush Assorted pastel colored acrylic paints Scrap of paper Blank white invitations White paper napkins White paper cups White fabric or paper tablecloth White wrapping paper Wood skewers Floral arrangement Tape Scissors White card stock 1/8-inch wide pastel satin ribbon Pastel ink pens Paper hole punch
-
Step 1
Make a fist with your hand. Apply the desired color of acrylic paint to the curved side of the pinky and the side of the hand.
-
Step 2
Place a piece of scrap paper on your work surface. Press the painted side of your fist on the scrap paper. This will give you the heel, pad and in step of your baby footprint.
-
Step 3
Dip the pad of your pinky in the same color paint. Dot your finger five times over the top of the footprint to form the toe prints.
-
Step 4
Repeat Steps 1 to 3 with the other hand to give you a right and left foot print.
-
Step 1
Paint a set of baby footprints on the front of the blank invitations. Apply a baby footprint to the invitation envelope. Allow the paint to dry. Write the invitation information in the card and the addresses on the envelope using a pastel ink pen.
-
Step 2
Decorate white party napkins and paper cups. Paint a set of baby footprints on each paper napkin and one footprint on the side of a paper cup. Lay a white paper or fabric tablecloth on a flat work surface. Randomly paint footprints over the surface of the tablecloth. If using a fabric tablecloth, you can reuse it for a Christening reception or a baby's first birthday.
-
Step 3
Cut a 4-inch square of card stock for each guest place card. Fold the card stock square in half. Paint a footprint on one side of the card and allow to dry. Write the guest name over the surface of the footprint.
-
Step 4
Paint several footprints on a sheet of card stock and allow to dry. Cut around the footprints leaving 1/4 inch of white around the edges. Place the end of a wood skewer on the center back of the cut out footprints and tape in place. Complete all the footprints and insert in a floral baby shower arrangement.
-
Step 5
Paint another sheet of card stock with several footprints for name tags and cut out as in Step 4. Punch a hole in each footprint card using the paper punch. Thread 8 inches of ribbon through the hole and tie a bow. Randomly paint footprints over the surface of the white wrapping paper to compliment the name tags.
