The mohawk has stood the test of time. In recent years, instead of mainly the teenage population sporting this look, other segments of the population have begun to adopt this hair style as well. It has become popular with children, and even adults are being seen more often wearing a mohawk. This style of haircut can be varied by the length of the hair that is left on the top of the head. If it is left longer, there are more styling options available to the mohawk wearer. Here are some tips for cutting this hair style.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Comb Hair clip Hair clippers Towel for draping Scissors
  1. Step 1

Comb through the hair and sit the person on a stool with a towel draped around his shoulders.

  2. Step 2

Divide the hair into the parts to be cut short and the part to be left longer. The width and length of the mohawk is completely up to the preference of the individual. Place the part to be kept longer into a hair clip to separate it.

  3. Step 3

Clip the hair short on the sides of the head with the hair clippers. The length is up to the individual, but an average side length would be 3/8 to 1/2 inch. Pass the hair clippers through this entire area two times to make sure that it is even and all the stray hairs are trimmed.

  4. Step 4

Release the hair from the hair clip. Cut this section of hair to the desired length with the scissors. Make sure that this hair is even.

  5. Step 5

    Style the mohawk as desired.
