How to Change the Turn Signal Bulb on a Nissan Pickup
Rather than changing the bulb alone on a Nissan pickup, you will purchase a turn signal assembly. This includes the bulb as well as the colored lenses. A Phillips head screwdriver is the only tool you will need. Before buying a replacement assembly make certain that it is the correct assembly for the model and year of your vehicle. Breaking apart the turn signal assembly is not recommended, as this will destroy the water-tight seal and could result in the rapid failure of the signal.

1
Purchase the correct turn signal assembly unit based on the year and model number of your Nissan. Different turn signal assemblies were made for different model years, so make sure that you have all of the information needed to get the correct assembly for your particular model and year.

Unscrew the two (on some models four) Phillips head screws that hold the turn signal assembly in place, and carefully remove the assembly. There will be a tab at one end of the assembly that slides out of a slot. This tab helps to hold the assembly tightly in place, and on most models there is a wire bundle which must be unplugged near the center of the back side of the assembly. On some models, there are no wires that must be unplugged--there is simply a built-in plug-in that is pulled out as you remove the assembly. Set the assembly side. Save the screws, as you will use these to install the new unit.

Carefully install the new assembly, being careful to slip the tab into the tab slot and to reconnect the wire plug-in to the new assembly. On some models, there will be no wire bundle to plug-in--the assembly will come with a built-in plug-in on the back, which will automatically align and plug itself in as you insert the assembly.

Replace the screws. Test the turn signal to see that it is working properly.

Tips & Warnings
Taking a turn signal assembly apart in order to replace only the light bulb can cause the assembly to lose its water-tight seal. You are better off replacing the entire assembly.
