Things You'll Need:

  • DVD Wrapping paper Scissors Cellophane tape Bow or ribbon for decoration Gift card, if desired
  1. Step 1
    Cut the paper.
    Cut the paper.

Cut the wrapping paper so it is about an inch longer than the DVD box and wraps around the box with a little overlap. If it is a multi-disc set, the box may be thicker, so allow for extra paper at the top and the bottom.

  2. Step 2
Center the box on the wrapping paper.
Center the box on the wrapping paper.

Center the DVD box on the "wrong" (unprinted) side of the paper. Use a small piece of tape to stick the right side of the paper to the box. Fold the left side of the paper over the box so it meets the other side in the middle, and secure it with tape.

  3. Step 3
Create two flaps at the bottom of the box.
Create two flaps at the bottom of the box.

Working at the bottom end of the box, push the small right and left sides of the paper flat against the box to create two angled flaps sticking off the bottom of the box. Then, fold the top flap down, so it is flat against the box bottom, and fold the bottom flap up, so it covers the other flap. Secure with tape.

  4. Step 4
Tape the flaps on the top end of the box.
Tape the flaps on the top end of the box.

Turn the box so the top end faces you now. Repeat Step 3, pushing the small right and left sides of the paper flat against the box to create two angled flaps sticking off the bottom of the box. Fold the top flap down, so it is flat against the box bottom, and fold the bottom flap up, so it covers the other flap. Secure with tape.

  5. Step 5
    Decorate the package.
    Decorate the package.

Decorate the package with a bow, ribbon or gift card as desired. Some bows and gift cards have their own adhesive, while others will need to be stuck to the box with tape.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some wrapping paper is printed with dotted guides on the underside to help in cutting straight lines. You may want to select paper like this if you have a difficult time cutting evenly. A strong geometric pattern could serve the same purpose. If you will be giving multiple DVDs as gifts at the same time, you might save time by cutting one piece of paper and using it as a template for all of the DVDs.
