Many charities solicit businesses to make donations of products, monies or services for special events, fundraisers or ongoing community service programs. This solicitation is officially called a donation request. Each business has a system of policies and procedures for following up on the status of a donation request. When you submit the donation request, it is good to take heed of any instructions that are issued at that time. Many businesses post the standard notification procedure on the donation request itself.
