How to Shrink a Pimple at Home
Pimples. Who hasn't had one? And even worse, who hasn't had one at the most inconvenient times--on your wedding day, the night before school pictures or before a big date. This isn't really your skin seeking revenge on you, in spite of what it seems; it's more likely stress and anxiety triggering acne breakouts. While there's no surefire method for completely getting rid of a pimple, there are some methods you can use at home to help shrink a pimple down to a less-noticeable size. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need

1
Avoid picking at or popping the pimple. As tempting as this is, it will only exacerbate the problem, creating a big, ugly, irritated red bump instead of just a big ugly bump.
-
2
Wash your face thoroughly with warm water and an oil-free face wash, ideally one specifically for acne-prone skin.
-
-
3
Apply ice to the pimple for about 2 minutes. Repeat this procedure as often as possible. Ice helps decrease redness and swelling.
-
4
Apply an acne ointment with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide directly to the pimple. Leave it on overnight if possible.
-
5
Wash your skin with warm water just before getting ready. If the pimple is still noticeable, repeat the ice cube application. Cover the spot with flesh-tinted medication or makeup (yes, even for men).

Tips & Warnings
Use oil-free facial products to help keep your skin pimple-free. If you have a big event coming up, try to get adequate rest. This will help keep you from getting too stressed out and possibly help you avoid an untimely breakout.
Serious acne breakouts may require a visit to a dermatologist.
