How to Hook Up a Magnavox DVD Recorder

DVD recorders are devices that allow you to record video onto blank DVDs. They are generally used to record TV shows and transfer VHS to DVDs. Magnavox is a popular brand of electronics that makes very good DVD recorders. If you follow these steps, you will know how to hook up a Magnavox DVD recorder.

Things You'll Need:

  • Magnavox DVD recorder TV CVBS cable or S-Video cable with audio cables Antenna cable
  1. Step 1

    Remove the antenna cable from the back of the TV. Insert it into the "Antenna" jack on the back of the DVD recorder.

  2. Step 2

    Take the antenna cable that came with your Magnavox DVD recorder and connect one end into the "TV" jack on the back of the DVD recorder. Connect the other end into the input jack on the back of your TV.

  3. Step 3

    If using CVBS cables, connect one end into the "Out Video" jack on the back of the DVD recorder and the other end into the "Video In" jack on the back of the TV. If using S-Video, connect one end into the "S-Video Out" jack on the back of the DVD recorder and the other end into the "S-Video In" jack on the back of the TV.

  4. Step 4

    Connect one end of the audio cable into the "Audio Out" jack on the back of the DVD recorder and the other end into the "Audio In" jack on the back of the TV.

  5. Step 5

    Plug in the DVD recorder. It is now hooked up.
