Make a Doll With Baby Socks

Baby socks are perfect for making a doll. Creating a doll from baby socks can be relatively easy if you follow a few simple steps. Pick out a fun bright color for your baby sock doll. Once you understand these techniques, you will see how easy it is to make a doll with baby socks.

Things You'll Need:

• 7 brightly colored baby socks Matching thread Needle Scissors Cotton balls 2 small black buttons Doll Clothes

1. 

   Take three baby socks and push each one inside the other. Stitch the baby socks closed with matching color thread. Tie the baby sock off at the top third so that you create a head and a body.

2. 

   Stitch two small buttons for eyes. Do this by running the needle and thread through the loop in the back of the button and into the fabric and back out again.

3. 

   Fold a baby in on itself and stitch it closed. Tie off the top of it to make a small ball. Do this for each arm and leg. Stitch these to the upper left and right sides of the body for the arms. Stitch these to the lower left and right sides for the legs.

4. Dress the doll in small doll clothes like overalls, dresses or pants. You can accessorize with small farmer's hats or colored yarn for hair.

Tips & Warnings

• Pick out baby socks of just one bright color for the doll. That way all the body parts will match, and you'll have a colorful doll.
• If your doll is a little saggy, add some cotton balls for filler before you stitch it closed.
