How to Install Macromedia Flash Player

Adobe Flash Player [formerly Macromedia Flash Player] has become a ubiquitous part of the Internet. Without Flash Player, some website features are inaccessible, and a few websites won't work at all. Luckily, installing Flash Player on your home computer is a simple process that will take only a few minutes.

Instructions

1. In your Internet browser, go to the Flash Player download site (see Resources).

2. On the Flash Player download page, click "Agree and Install Now."

3. Depending upon your browser and settings, a dialog box may ask for permission to begin the download. Click the "Run" or "Save and Run" button (the message may vary slightly based on your browser).

4. When Flash Player is finished downloading, a dialog box may ask for permission to run the Flash Player Install program. Click "Run" (again, the message may vary slightly based on your browser).

5. A dialog box will appear to alert you when the installation is complete. If it requests permission to close and restart the browser, click "Yes."

Tips & Warnings

• Flash Player works on most Internet browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. The Flash Player download website automatically detects your browser when you connect.
