How to Modify Styles in Word 2007

Word provides you with dozens of predefined styles for different types of text. Using styles throughout your document helps to keep the formatting consistent and creates a polished and professional look. You can easily modify these styles to meet your own preferences.

      Locate the style you wish to modify in the Styles box.

      Right-click on the style. A menu box will appear.

      Click "Modify." The modify style box will appear.

      In the formatting area, choose the font, paragraph, and tab specifications. The changes you make will be reflected in the preview box.

      Make additional changes by clicking the "Format" button, selecting one of the options from the menu, and then completing the dialogue box that appears.

      Click "OK" when you are finished with a dialogue box. The box will close and the changes will then be reflected in the preview box in the main styles box.

      After you have made all of your changes, click "OK" in the main styles box. The changes you made to the style will be applied throughout your document.
