How to Contact Spirits

Contact Spirits

Science tells us that multiple dimensions exist within our universe. Many people believe that the physical body resides in one world, while the spirit or soul resides in another, overlapping dimension. This belief is based on the idea of our spiritual selves departing the physical body upon death and lingering in the spirit world for an unknown length of time. Spirits who linger on Earth are commonly called ghosts, guardian angels or spirit guides. Out of a desire to communicate with departed loved ones, many techniques have been developed to help those left behind communicate with the dead. Maybe they work, maybe they don't. If you would like to contact the spirit world, what harm is there in trying?

Instructions

    • 1

Believe in yourself and believe in the spirits that surround you. Be resolute in your decision to contact and communicate with them.

    • 2

Find a comfortable spot and meditate to quiet your mind. To meditate, simply sit and be quiet. Think of nothing. Sometimes, it helps to have an object to look at, such as a lit candle. Choose a time to do this and practice meditation at the same time, in the same location each day for a minimum of 20 minutes.

    • 3

Begin your meditation sessions with a prayer for protection, such as "Father, please watch over me and grant me your protection so that only I will only be influenced by the best forces."

    • 4

Once your mind is quiet, you will begin to sense gaps in your thoughts. When you realize there is a gap, focus your mind on this question: "What would you like me to know?" Ask the question out loud several times.

    • 5

Examine the resulting mental activity. Some time after asking the spirits what they want you to know, you should find yourself becoming distracted by mental images or a few words that keep appearing in your mind. This is your answer.

    • 6

Write down your experiences for further examination. If you feel comfortable with the process, ask different questions. Once you become skilled at interpreting the data given to you by your spirits, you can ask about other things that have been on your mind.

    • 7

Watch for answers. The answer to your question may not be given immediately, so pay attention after you ask it. You may see the answer on a TV show or in a commercial, or hear it in a song on the radio. Once you have begun a dialogue, let the surrounding spirits guide you.

Make a pendulum if you're having difficulty with the meditation. Attach a fishing sinker to an 18-inch piece of fishing line. Hold the sinker suspended in the air, with your elbow on the table. Ask the pendulum to swing in one direction if the answer is "yes" and the other direction if the answer is "no."

Try scrying. Sit in a dark room lit by a single candle and look into a mirror. For best results, turn the mirror slightly or sit beside it at an angle, so you're not staring directly at your own reflection. Do not focus your eyes on anything in particular; in time, you should be able to see images other than your own.

Tips & Warnings

  • Protect yourself when trying to contact the spirit world. Never forget to ask for protection and be sure to let unwelcome spirits know they are not wanted.
