How to Draw Nautical Stars

Nautical themes can be found in many places, including tattoos and in home decorating. One of the main nautical symbols is the nautical star. The nautical star is one of the symbols of the United States Armed Forces, so this is a symbol that holds a lot of meaning to military personnel. Draw a nautical star to decorate your room, or to celebrate a military person in your life.

Instructions

1. 

   Draw a traditional star shape. Start at the uppermost point and draw a line diagonally down and toward the right. From that lowermost point, draw another diagonal line that goes slightly up toward the left. From this point, draw a straight line that goes to the right. From this point, draw a line that goes down diagonally to the left, then draw the line upward toward the original point.

2. 

   Erase the center of the traditional star. Create a line that splits the star in half vertically.

3. 

   Draw lines that radiate from the center. These lines should separate each point of the star, creating marquis shapes. However, the uppermost point should resemble two sides of a pyramid.

4. 

   Split each star point in half by drawing straight lines that radiate from the center to the outer points of the star.

5. 

   Color the star using alternating colors. The nautical star is predominately red and black, however, you can use any colors you want.
