How to Make a JVC DVD Player Region Free

Region codes are put onto DVDs to determine what DVD player are compatible with the discs. The region codes are based on the region of the world the DVD and DVD player are made for. For example, all DVDs made for the US and Canada are Region 1. With a region free DVD player, you can play DVDs from all over the world.

Things You'll Need

• Computer JVC DVD player LG5000 file CD burning software Blank CD

Instructions

1. Download LG5000. This file is the key to making a JVC DVD player region free. A link is located in the Resources section.

2. Unzip LG5000 and burn it to a blank CD. Open your burning software, locate LG5000, select it, and then press "Burn."

3. Insert the CD into your JVC DVD player. Once the DVD player reads the CD, it will then display your region code and ask what region code you would like.

4. Press "0" on your JVC DVD player remote and then press "OK."

5. Remove the CD from the DVD player, turn off the DVD player, and then turn it back on. It is now region free.
