The wedding consultant business has boomed in recent years. Wedding consultants plan and execute every facet of a wedding ceremony. They combine the skills of a decorator, florist, caterer and a highly organized planner. A consultant removes most of the worry from the process for the bride and groom and has access to money-saving products and services. Become an online wedding consultant by creating a striking web presence, marketing yourself wisely and being responsive to your customer's needs.

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access Domain name Web host
  1. Step 1

Purchase a domain name for your company. Choose something that's easy to remember and easy to explain to others. Your company name is your best choice.

  2. Step 2

Find a web hosting service with page design tools you can use to create your website. Compare price and services like how many email addresses you get, how much bandwidth is provided and special features like e-commerce and shopping carts.

  3. Step 3

Create your website. Once you've done the initial design, maintaining the site should take no more than 1 o 2 hours per week.

  4. Step 4

Make a homepage with a paragraph or two about your business, the history of your business and your qualifications. Display your contact information prominently. Include your email address, phone number and physical address.

  5. Step 5

Write another page that lists your experience and training, customer testimonials and references. Put links to other sites that are useful to your visitors. Create a photo gallery of weddings you've planned.

  6. Step 6

Talk about the areas you work in, if you consult in person, and special services you might provide like discount chauffeuring or catering for special diets on another page.

  7. Step 7

Create a rates page. List the charges for the services you provide.

  8. Step 8

Market your web page by making the text keyword heavy. Think of the words potential customers would use in a search for a wedding consultant. Use those words frequently in your text, but don't overdo it. They should appear naturally as parts of paragraphs.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep your website current. Check often for broken links. Make sure all of your contact information is on every page. Put your web page address on your business cards.
