Losing weight can be a difficult task and involves breaking bad habits. To successfully burn body fat fast, lots of varied exercise and a healthy diet are required. Some of these methods, such as fasting, can result in a loss of several pounds in the course of a week. Diet and exercise will take longer but are just as effective.

      Exercise on a regular basis. Walking, stair climbing, jogging and aerobics can burn calories. It's important to do this at the same time everyday. For maximum effect, do as much as physically possible every time.

      Stop eating foods that are high in calories. Fat is basically stored calories and are burned when exercising. Taking in extra calories means that there are many more to burn before getting to the fat.

      Eat five small, healthy meals a day. Include lots of fruits and vegetables in the diet. This ensures the body is receiving the needed calories to function in small, healthy portions, preventing build-up of fat.

      Weight training burns body fat while building lean muscle mass. A full work-out should be implemented, exercising each section of the body. The work-out should be performed every other day, giving the muscles a chance to recuperate and grow during the off day.

      Fast for a short period of time. Ingest only fruit and vegetable juices for several days to clean out the digestive system and burn unneeded calories. The juice sustains the body with the vitamins and minerals it needs, and several pounds can be lost in only a few days.

  • When fasting, if suffering from a lack of energy or general weariness, either stop the fast immediately and begin eating fruits and vegetables, or increase the amount of juice ingested dramatically. When resuming eating after the fast is completed, start with fruits and vegetables and slowly work back up to other foods or digestive problems could occur. Do not exercise while fasting. The body is running on a reduced level of calories and exercise can cause extreme fatigue.
