Acne is a problem for many people, and one of the side effects of acne is redness. Basic redness from a forming blemish to a healing blemish can be alleviated somewhat by using some basic skin care products.
Things You'll Need
- Exfoliating cleanser
- Hot water
- Ice water
Exfoliate with a facial cleanser and rinse well. This will remove dead skin cells and help unclog pores. Pat dry.
Apply pure honey to the affected area or areas. Honey is a natural antioxidant moisturizer and will absorb impurities.
Soak a washcloth in the hottest water your face can stand. Wring it out and lay it over your face for 5 minutes. The steam and heat from the cloth will help loosen whatever is clogging your pores and will allow the honey to penetrate and do its job.
Wipe face gently with the washcloth, rinsing off all the honey.
Splash your face with ice water. The cold will help "seal" your skin after the treatment, and within minutes any red spots should disappear.
Tips & Warnings
- Honey can be used for many skin care tasks and is actually good to apply directly to blemishes to help heal them.
