How to Download Windows XP Modem Drivers
Modem drivers are a requirement for logging on to the Internet. Unless you use the Ethernet cord to hook up your modem, modems are not plug and play components; therefore, it is necessary to have a driver. The purpose of the driver is for Windows to understand how to use the device. Windows XP will recognize that a device is connected to the PC, but without proper drivers, does not know what to do with the information it receives.
