Things You'll Need:
- 1 cup water 2 cups granulated white sugar Food coloring Saucepan Spoon Plastic bowl container Colander Paper towels

Pour the water into a saucepan.

Stir in the sugar and food coloring until the sugar is almost completely dissolved.

Cook on medium heat. Continue stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Remove from the heat source and allow to cool completely.

Pour into a plastic container and allow it to sit for about 10 days. The water will evaporate over the time, and colored crystals will form.

Turn the plastic container over a colander and allow the remaining moisture to drain away.

Break the sugar crystals into bite-size pieces and place on a paper towel to dry.
