By creating a website for your family, you can share special dates such as birthdays, graduations, reunions and parties. This also makes family members feel closer to each other if they live far apart. The Internet has made it easy for families to create places where they can share memories and special days. By signing up for a free account at these particular websites, you can have a place for your family online in no time.

Things You'll Need:

  • Special family dates Family photos Family email addresses
  1. Step 1

Use online websites that help you create a free family website that allows you to upload images and stay in contact with everybody. Some examples of these sites are My Family and Nexo (see Resources).

  2. Step 2

Sign up for a free account on either website. Read all the directions and FYI questions so that you understand how the website works.

  3. Step 3

Send invitations to other family members through their invitation links. Encourage all members of the family to sign up, add their family information such as birthdays, anniversaries and other special days, and add photos. Add videos of graduations, plays, parties or anything that you would like to share with the family, too.

  4. Step 4

Add upcoming family reunions, graduations or gatherings that are being planned. Send emails to all of the family members so that they can set up reminders of those particular dates.

  5. Step 5

Share administrative information such as user name and passwords for any other members of the family who want to help run the website. This will be useful if you are ill, on vacation or busy with work.
