How to Design Your Own Decals For a Semi Truck
Owning a semi truck is all about independence. One of the best ways to show your independence is by decorating your semi truck with personalized decals of your own design. No one can buy a decal that you have designed, and it adds a touch of uniqueness to a vehicle that you depend on for your livelihood. For this example, you will learn how to design a skull with horns. Once you master the basics, you can design hundreds of original decals for your semi truck.

Draw an oval for the top of the skull. Add a rectangle underneath for the jaw. Create the eye sockets with ovals that come to a point on the inside edge. Add the nose with a triangular shape that dips up at the bottom. Add the guideline for the horns with upside-down "L" shapes on each side of the head. Create the forked tongue with a rectangle that ends in two triangles.

Add the teeth with a slightly curved rectangle above the tongue. Create the fangs on either side of the teeth with curved cones.

Thicken the horns by drawing parallel lines around the the horn guidelines. Add S-shaped curves at the base of the horns to make them appear to come to a curved point.

Erase the bottom right and left sides of the oval, and draw sideways "L" shapes to make the skull appear to be connecting to the jaw. Add five vertical lines below the nose.

Erase all of the guidelines. Redraw any lines that were lost when you erased the guidelines. Add curved lines inside the horns for ridges. Ink the entire drawing. Let the ink dry, and carefully erase the pencil lines. Darken in the eye sockets, nose and mouth.

Scan your image into your computer at least 300 dots per inch. Save the image as a JPEG. You can upload this image to a custom decal manufacturer such as StickerQuick.com and have your customized decals within a few days.

Let the ink dry before you erase the pencil lines, or your design will smudge.
