How to Make Firefox Fast
Firefox is generally regarded as one of the best browsers, but it occasionally suffers from slowdowns. There are a number of things that affect Firefox's speed, and through some practical steps, you can optimize your browser to run at the fastest speed possible.

1
Clear your browsing history, cache and cookies by going to the "Tools" menu and clicking "Clear Private Data." Click the "Clear" button to get rid of all temporary files. You can also check a box that will enable you to "clear your tracks" every time you exit Firefox. This is a great way to automatically delete these files, so you won't have to remember to do it later.

2
The Firefox browser has several useful add-ons, like "No Script" and "Ad Block," which will stop unnecessary page components from loading. For more information on Firefox add-ons, see the official add-on information page in the Resources section.

3
Don't keep too many tabs open at once as they can be major drag on your computer's virtual memory--the memory required to run individual programs.

4
Although it might be tempting to keep several tabs of YouTube videos open, in addition to your favorite online podcast or streaming radio, this type of media requires a lot of data transfer, which can drag down your virtual memory and slow your browser speed. Keep streaming media relegated to a single tab to keep Firefox running quickly.
