A muffler is an old fashioned name for a good, warm scarf. Keeping your neck warm during the winter months with a fluffy, homemade scarf is something to appreciate. If you have a basic knowledge of crochet and can make an even single crochet stitch, then this scarf could easily be made in only a few hours' time. It is worked across the length of the scarf, so chain the desired length and begin to work the stitch for the remainder of the scarf.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 skeins worsted weight yarn Size N crochet hook Scissors
  1. Step 1

Chain the length you desire the scarf. Approximately 100 chains would make an average scarf.

  2. Step 2

Crochet a single crochet in the second chain away from the hook and in each chain across the entire length of the chains. Chain stitch one more chain and turn.

  3. Step 3

Crochet a single crochet in the first stitch of the prior row and then single crochet in each back loop only of each single crochet across the entire length of the scarf.

  4. Step 4

Repeat Step 3 until the scarf is the width you desire for the finished scarf.

  5. Step 5

Tie off and clip the yarn. Weave the clipped end into the crochet stitches to finish the scarf.
