How to Make a Bottle Cap Shooter

1. Begin by finding an water bottle made of plastic thin enough to bend and manipulate with your hands. Poland Spring and Crystal Geyser bottles work especially well.

2. Drink the contents and replace the cap on the empty water bottle.

3. Beginning just at or below the midway point on the bottle, twist it as you would to wring out a washcloth. The more the bottle is twisted, the more air pressure builds behind the cap and the farther the bottle cap will go.

4. Finally, untwist the bottle cap. It should burst off the bottle with force and shoot into the air.

Tips & Warnings

• Each bottle cap shooter will only work one time. After the bottle cap shooter has been used, it should be recycled.

• Bottle cap shooters seem harmless, but bottle caps will burst off of the bottles with significant force. Be careful where the bottle shooter is aimed. Don't aim at people or animals.
