How to Mute a Samsung Phone

Mute a Call

Press the left soft key ("Menu") while the call is in progress. A menu will appear on screen listing different available options, including "Mute."

Select "Mute" on the menu.

Repeat the process to "Unmute" the call.

Press and hold the hash key (#) to quickly mute and unmute the call as well.
Mute the Keypad

Press the left soft key ("Menu"). A menu will appear on screen listing different available options.

Select "Settings." A new menu will appear.

Select "Sound Settings." Another menu will appear displaying available sound settings.

Select "Keypad Tones." A list will appear with five options, including "Off."

Repeat the process to turn the keypad sounds back on.

Tips & Warnings
The volume buttons on the left side of the handset also work to mute the phone. Simply press the downward arrow button repeatedly until the volume has been reduced to mute.
Do not forget to unmute the phone, or at least check to make sure the mute feature has been turned off, after a call. Many users have reported that the mute feature, once activated, has remained on for all calls until manually turned off.
