Hydra is a password cracking program that can detect weak passwords that need to be changed. A company can use the program to ensure that those on the server have passwords that are strong enough to resist the casual hacker. As a security tool, the Hydra program can help to strengthen the passwords chosen by computer users by weeding out the weakest passwords. The program should only be used as a test for poorly composed passwords and never to steal information from a computer with weak passwords.
