How to Plan a Carnival Themed Birthday Party

  1. Step 1

INVITES: You can create a large carnival admission ticket shaped invite with the details of the party included. You can also include a picture of the child on the invite.

  2. Step 2

LOCATION: A carnival-themed birthday party can be kept in a park or your very own backyard if it is spacious. If your backyard is too small, depending on the area, a park may not be too expensive to rent for the day.

  3. Step 3

DECORATIONS: Decorate the location with balloons all over. You can choose a color scheme such as red and yellow and use that as the theme. You can also create artistic signs for each game booth that represent the game. Decorate the booths with streamers, balloons, and other props.

  4. Step 4

ENTERTAINMENT: Set up booths for different games for children to play, such as ring toss, balloon dart, duck pond, sand art, and face painting. You will need prizes for each of these games. Get blank rolls of carnival tickets and write the names of your games on them. Determine how many tickets you will need based on the number of children attending and the number of times you want each child to play the game. Place the tickets in a goody bags and hand one out to each child. They can use the goodie bags to store their prizes. If you want additional entertainment, consider hiring a clown or magician to entertain the children.

  5. Step 5

FOOD: Cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs, and nacho cheese are some ideas for food items that you can have for your carnival-themed party. You can also serve pizza for lunch or dinner.
