The Antec 900 computer case

The Antec 900 computer case is a popular choice among custom computer builders. It has six internal hard drive bays that are relatively easy to access. Unlike many other cases by Antec, such as the Sonata, the 900 doesn't have removable disk trays, which simplifies drive installation.
Any desktop hard drive will fit in this case, and it only takes around five to 10 minutes for the average computer user to install one.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the two Phillips-head screws securing the windowed left side panel in place. These will be located on the back of the case, one screw at the top of the panel, and one at the bottom. Lay both screws aside in a safe place to avoid losing them. Gently slide the side panel toward the back of the case until it is free. Lay it aside as well.

    • 2

Slide the hard drive into one of the drive bays, making sure the ports face towards the inside of the case. There will be multiple bays to choose from, so pick the one that is the most convenient. Insert two case screws through the holes in the side of the bay, and tighten them using a Phillips-head screwdriver. A set of these screws come with the Antec 900, as well as with retail boxed hard drives. If there are additional hard drives, install them as well.

    • 3

Plug a Molex or SATA power connector from the power supply unit into each of the hard drives. If the drives are SATA, connect each drive to an SATA header on the motherboard, using an SATA cable. If the drives are PATA, use a ribbon cable to connect the drives to the IDE ports on the motherboard. If unsure, check the label on the disk drives to see what type they are.

    • 4

Slide the side panel back on in the same way it came off, and reinsert the two case screws that were previously removed. Tighten them securely by hand. The hard drives are now installed.
