How to Haul a Motorcycle in a Pickup Truck
Whether a motorcycle was just bought, is headed to a repair shop or being transported to Daytona Beach for Bike Week, hauling it in a pickup truck is the easiest way to move it.

1
Enlist the aid of a friend and push the motorcycle up the ramp and into the pickup bed. Roll it until the front tire is in contact with the front wall of the pickup body.
-
2
Position the bike so that when the kickstand is down and locked, the weight of the motorcycle is in the center of the pickup's bed.
-
-
3
Put the kickstand in the down position and lean the bike onto it as you normally would.
-
4
Secure a ratcheting strap to both sides of the handlebar and secure it to the side of the pickup truck. Tighten the straps evenly so the motorcycle remains leaning on the kickstand.
-
5
Secure another ratcheting strap from each side of the rear of the bike to the truck body. Stake pocket tie-downs work great for this.
-
6
Attempt to shake the motorcycle from side to side. If there's any movement, tighten the straps tighter.
-
7
Close the tailgate.

Tips & Warnings
Motorcycles are heavy. Don't attempt to load one into a truck bed without help. Carefully explain what you're attempting to do to any and all helpers.
