If you're new to the program, the sheer number of options it presents you with can be a little overwhelming.       Start "Nero Express." You can do this by selecting the "Start" menu, clicking on "Programs," choosing the "Nero" folder and clicking on the "Nero Burning Rom" icon. Depending on the settings you chose during installation, you may always have the appropriate icon on your desktop.

      Click on the "Data" icon located on the left side of the prompt that pops up. This will give you all the options for burning data CDs and DVDs. You may also notice options for "Music," "Videos/Pictures," and "Image, Project, Copy."

      Select "Data DVD" from the menu on the right side of the prompt. Click "Add" on the screen that pops up to add files and folders to your disk. When you are finished, click "Next."

      Finalize your project by changing any options. You can name your disk, choose exactly which burner you want to record with and select the number of copies you want to make. When all your settings are the way you want them, make sure a blank DVD is in your DVD writer and select "Burn."

Tips & Warnings

  • For the best results, when given the option to select your burning speed always choose the slowest setting. It will take longer to finish a disk, but it will also have the best chance of success.
