The minor pentatonic scale V can be used as a soloing device as well as a technique builder on the guitar. Since the scale uses the left hand pinkie finger on every string, the minor pentatonic scale V can greatly increase the strength and dexterity of this often unused finger. It is also a favored improvisation device that has been used on famous recordings by such great guitarists as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck.
