Making simple animations on your computer is not as difficult as many people may think. It does not have to involve special and expensive animation programs that are dedicated only for the purpose of creating animations, either. With Photoshop CS3, not only do you have a powerful and easy-to-use graphics program, but you also have an effective animation program as well. Here are instructions for creating basic animations with Photoshop CS3.

    Make Animations in Photoshop CS3

  1. Step 1

Begin a new project by opening the animation palette. Select "Animation." This will give you options for creating individual animation frames that will be combined into a final animation.

  2. Step 2

Make the first frame of the animation. Create different layers to differentiate between moving and non-moving objects within the animation.

  3. Step 3

Select the "Duplicate Current Frame" option within the animation palette. This will create a copy of your frame. Repeat this process for each frame desired for the animation. Multiple frames can be duplicated at this point by choosing a frame sequence prior to selecting the "Duplicate Current Frame" option.

  4. Step 4

Select a frame for editing. Make the desired edits to this frame to further create the animation. Shift the position of the layers, add additional layers or drag the frames to rearrange their order.

  5. Step 5

Set the properties of the frame and the final animation. The individual frame speed and frame sequence can be determined now.

  6. Step 6

Export the animation. Select "Render Video" in the File tab under "Export." This file can be exported as a QuickTime animation or a simple image sequence.
