How to Make a Hand Fan Template
Paper fans are popular toys for children. They are also popular party favors and are often given away at garden parties or weddings to help keep guests cool in warm weather.
Making a paper fan from a template is an easy project that can be economical as well. Simple card stock and embellishments will create a lovely fan for use in a variety of ways.
Here is a simple hand fan template.

Place the card stock paper in front of you horizontally.

Measure from the bottom left corner up to 1/2 inch below the top left corner. Make a mark at this point and write this measurement down.

Measure from the bottom left corner over toward the bottom right corner. Make a mark at the measurement point measured in step 2.

Place the point of the geometry compass at the bottom left corner and extend the compass out to the mark made in step 3.

Draw an light arc between the first and second points made.

Make a decorative scalloped edge along this arc, if desired. It can also be left plain. Cut along this edge after making it look how you want it to look.

Use the template to create a simple paper fan. The paper fan will be cut out of two pieces of card stock and attached to a wooden stick at the bottom corner. The stick will be sandwiched between the two layers of card stock. Decorate the back and the front of the fan with embellishments and colors of choice.
