How to Install a Belkin Modem Into a Laptop

      Put the modem-router near your laptop and raise the modem-router's antenna.

      Take the networking cable that came with your modem-router and plug it into the yellow port on the back of the modem-router.

      Take the phone cable that came with your modem-router and plug one end into the gray port - the ADSL line - on the back of the modem-router. Plug the other end into your phone socket/jack.

      Plug one end of the power cord into the black port (PWR) on the back of the modem-router. Plug the other end into an outlet, power strip or other reliable power supply.

      Wait around 30 seconds for the unit to start up. Take a look at the display on the front of the modem-router. The "Power," "Wired," and "Wireless" icons should be lit blue.

      Once the connections are made, insert the setup CD that came with the modem-router into your laptop. Open the software. Setup will take you step-by-step through the process. Once you complete the software setup, your new modem-router will be ready to use.
