Stamped concrete is often referred to as patterned concrete. It is made to look like brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile or even wood. Stamped concrete is gaining popularity because of its durability, stain resistance, affordability, and the variety of colors and patterns available.
Over time the rain water causes hard water stains on your stamped concrete. These stains appear as white flaky trails running down the surface of your concrete. They need to be removed once visible or they can cause damage to the concretes seal and ruin the underlying concrete.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Trisodium phosphate (TSP) Garden hose Adjustable nozzle Scrub brush with handle Rubber gloves Goggles Broom and dustpan
  1. Step 1

Sweep your stamped concrete to clear it of all dirt and debris.

  2. Step 2

Put on rubber gloves and goggles. TSP is harmful to the skin and eyes. Mix a solution of 1/4 cup TSP for every gallon of warm water you are using.

  3. Step 3

Spray down your stamped concrete with your hose. Use the highest pressure available to loosen all dirt.

  4. Step 4

Dip your scrub brush into the TSP solution. Begin to scrub the surface of your stamped concrete. When you get to the area with the effervescence from hard water stains allow the TSP solution to sit for at least five minutes.

  5. Step 5

Spray down your cleaned stamped concrete. If the effervescence still remains repeat the scrubbing process.

  6. Step 6

Clean your stamped concrete once a year.

Tips & Warnings
  • Reseal your stamped concrete every two years. Power wash your stamped concrete at least once a year. You can rent a power washer.
  • Do not seal your stamped concrete every year.
