How to Make Alltel Ringtones on a Computer Send to Phone
Alltel was an independent cell-phone service provider until the summer of 2008, when the company was purchased by Verizon Wireless. Since the acquisition, some Alltel customers have had difficulty acquiring free ringtones from certain websites. Alltel customers who make ringtones on the Myxer website, however, should have no problems. This is because the website can tell which type of phone the Alltel customer owns.

1
Log onto the Myxer homepage (see Resources). You will notice three options at the right of the screen. Click the option labeled "Make Your Own."
-
2
Click "Browse" on the next page. Search for and locate the song you want to use as an Alltel ringtone. After you have highlighted that file, click "OK" and then "Customize" so you can begin editing the Alltel ringtone.
-
-
3
Change the starting and ending points of the Alltel ringtone. You can change the start of the ringtone by typing in the text box labeled "Start," or by adjusting the location "Select A Section" audio box. To determine when the Alltel ringtone ends, you will need to type in a number in the text box labeled "Length." Your Alltel ringtone should be no shorter than 10 seconds and no longer than 30 seconds.
-
4
Type your Alltel phone number in the text box labeled "Phone Number." Once you've done this, click "Send to Phone."
-
5
Check your Alltel phone, as you will receive a message from Myxer. The text message will either include a link to the Alltel ringtone you created or the actual ringtone itself. If you received the ringtone, you can click "Options" and then save the ringtone to your Alltel phone. Alltel customers who receive a link to the ringtone will need to open the ringtone on their phone's browser. Once you have followed the link, you can click a "Download Ringtone" option located on the bottom of the page. Doing so will add the ringtone to your Alltel phone.
