Installing and setting up Bluetooth on a Cingular cell phone will allow you to use a wireless Bluetooth headset. The ability to talk on your cell phone without having to hold anything can come in handy, especially when you are driving. Installing Bluetooth will also make your Cingular cell phone "visible" to other Bluetooth devices that are close to your cell phone. Setting up Bluetooth on a Cingular cell phone is a process that takes just a few minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Plug your Bluetooth headset in to charge the device.

  2. Step 2

Turn the device on and put it into "Pairing Mode." To do this, press and hold the button in the middle of the device until the light on the device remains on.

  3. Step 3

Turn your Cingular cell phone on and go to "Menu."

  4. Step 4

    Select "Settings" and then "Connectivity."

  5. Step 5

Choose the "Bluetooth" option. On the Bluetooth page, you will need to choose "Bluetooth" and then select "On." Doing so will make your Bluetooth connection active.

  6. Step 6

Select the "Paired devices" choice back on the Bluetooth page of the Cingular phone. On the next page, you will need to choose the "New" option. The device from step two will be listed on the phone.

  7. Step 7

Highlight the Bluetooth device and select "Pair." You will then be asked to enter a code. Type in four zeros. You will then be able to use the Bluetooth device on the Cingular phone.
