How to Make a Footer on a PDF File in PDF Annotator

PDF Annotator is a program designed to allow users to make notes, comments and annotations, fill in forms and add signatures to PDF documents. Designed primarily for tablet PC users to be able to mark up files and share them, PDF Annotator also provides some of the same functionality as Adobe Acrobat, which allows users to make comments and notations on PDFs. While PDF Annotator doesn't allow the actual text of a document to be edited, it does provide a tool for inserting text--useful for adding items such as headers and footers.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PDF Annotator PDF document
  1. Step 1

    Open PDF Annotator, and then open the PDF document to which you wish to add footers.

  2. Step 2
    Select the text tool.
     
    Select the text tool.

    Select the text tool in the menu. It is an icon with the picture of a cursor and the letter "A" next to it.

  3. Step 3
    Make a text box with the footer text in it.

    Click your cursor in the bottom margin, roughly where you want your footer to appear. A text box with a cursor in it will appear. Type your desired footer text in the box.

  4. Step 4

    Adjust the size and position of the box as desired.

  5. Step 5
    Change the footer text to gray.

    Select the footer text and go to the font color menu. Change your footer text to whatever color you desire. In a standard text document, footers tend to be a shade of gray that is lighter than the text.

  6. Step 6

    Copy and paste the footer text onto all the pages of the document. Save the document.

Tips & Warnings
  • For documents with many pages, it may be easier to create footers in the original program, or Adobe Acrobat if it is available.
