The baitcaster fishing reel has become more popular over the years, particularly with bass fishermen. The baitcaster is very similar to a standard spinning reel. However, the baitcasters allow the fishing line to travel a farther distance than with a conventional spinning reel. A baitcaster reel allows the fishing line to exit the reel and flow through the line guides of the rod in a straight line, thereby reducing the amount of resistance between the line and the tip of the fishing rod.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Feed the end of the fishing line through the line guides starting at the tip of the rod. The line guides are the oval-shaped attachments which run along the length of the fishing rod.

  2. Step 2

Insert the end of the fishing line through the circular line guide located on the face of the reel.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the end of the fishing line around the spool. The spool is the circular portion of the reel which stores the fishing line.

  4. Step 4

Tie the end of the line into a knot around the spool.

  5. Step 5

Place the new fishing line container on the ground.

  6. Step 6

Place the tip of the rod next to the new fishing line.

  7. Step 7

Reel the new fishing line onto the baitcaster reel.
