How to Put a Line on a Bait Caster

The baitcaster fishing reel has become more popular over the years, particularly with bass fishermen. The baitcaster is very similar to a standard spinning reel. However, the baitcasters allow the fishing line to travel a farther distance than with a conventional spinning reel. A baitcaster reel allows the fishing line to exit the reel and flow through the line guides of the rod in a straight line, thereby reducing the amount of resistance between the line and the tip of the fishing rod.

Instructions

1. Feed the end of the fishing line through the line guides starting at the tip of the rod. The line guides are the oval-shaped attachments which run along the length of the fishing rod.

2. Insert the end of the fishing line through the circular line guide located on the face of the reel.

3. Wrap the end of the fishing line around the spool. The spool is the circular portion of the reel which stores the fishing line.

4. Tie the end of the line into a knot around the spool.

5. Place the new fishing line container on the ground.

6. Place the tip of the rod next to the new fishing line.

7. Reel the new fishing line onto the baitcaster reel.
