How to Use a Dash Phone as a Modem
One of the neatest, and yet littlest-known features of smart phones is the fact that they can be used as modems. Think about that--if you're traveling with your laptop but there's no network or WiFi available, you can still access the Internet as long as you have a cellular signal. Different phones work differently, and certain services are necessary on your cell phone account, but the T-Mobile Dash is one of the easiest to set up and use. So next time you're stuck at an airport or hotel without free WiFi, if you've got your Dash you've got an alternative.

Tips & Warnings
Although T-Mobile and HTC both still use the words "modem" in the instructions for setup, the Dash really functions more as a network device than a modem. The Dash can also be used to connect through Bluetooth rather than USB on laptops with Bluetooth capabilities. The steps are similar, except the user would choose "Bluetooth PAN" under "PC connection."
