Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Get along with your partner from a personality standpoint. This doesn't always mean you have to have the same personalities. Sometimes a quiet person blends best with an enthusiastic type.

  2. Step 2

Make sure you can communicate well with your partner, both on and off the court.

  3. Step 3

Choose a partner that complements you. For example, a strong server might want to pair up with someone who excels at volleying.

  4. Step 4

Try to find someone of an equivalent skill level or close to it.

  5. Step 5

Call your local tennis facility or country club and ask about leagues or doubles partners.

  6. Step 6

Join a United States Tennis Association (USTA) league, where you are tested for your skill level. This will help you to more easily find a doubles partner.

Tips & Warnings
