Instructions

  1. Repairing a Hole in Vinyl Siding

    • 1

Cut off a little corner of your siding to sample the color, or if you have an extra piece of it, use that.

    • 2

Take the example piece of siding to your local hardware store or paint store and find the exact matching color and buy a small can of outdoor house paint suitable for painting on vinyl surfaces.

    • 3

Buy foil tape and exterior silicon caulk at your local hardware store.

    • 4

Cut out a piece of foil tape out that is approximately a centimeter bigger than the hole or crack in the vinyl siding. Stick it over the hole firmly.

    • 5

Squirt exterior silicon caulk over and around the tape. Smooth it flat with a popsicle stick. Allow it to dry for several hours.

    • 6

Paint the matching paint over the tape and caulk. Brush paint lightly onto the surrounding centimeter of the patch to blend the color into the surrounding siding.
