Angelina Jolie is one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood. Her gorgeous half-up hairstyle is full of volume and curl. The look is sure to be flattering on those with shoulder length hair or longer. In just a few steps, you can re-create her voluminous half-up hair style with the use of a curling iron and blow dryer.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blow dryer Brush Root-lifting spray Large-barrel curling iron Hairspray Extra long bobby pins
  1. Step 1

Start with clean, well-conditioned hair. It should still be wet. Flip the hair upside down and blow dry straight using a brush until 50 percent dry.

  2. Step 2

Spray with the root-lifting spray, and then continue drying with fingers until completely dry. Volume is key, and the lifting spray has a better effect on hair that is more dry than wet.

  3. Step 3

Wrap hair around a heated, large-barrel curling iron for six seconds and release. Hair should be wrapped around the same way as if you were creating spiral curls. Continue around the head, taking 3-inch sections one at a time. Finger comb the hair. Flip upside down, and then right side up.

  4. Step 4

Hold hair with your hands back into a half-up ponytail with the rest hanging down. Spray hair ends with hairspray and spray under the top section with hairspray. This maximizes the volume and reactivates the lifting spray previously applied.

  5. Step 5

Release hair and rake curls back from the face and secure with two bobby pins on each side of the face just above the ears. Finish the look with more hairspray.

Tips & Warnings
  • Extra Long bobby pins can be found at your local drugstore.
  • Applying too much root lift can result in unmanageable hair.
