Go to the eBay site (see Resources).

Enter "refurbished Xbox" in the search box.

On the left side of the page, there is a "Refine Search" function. Under "Condition," click the checkbox next to "Refurbished." This will bring up a list of hundreds of refurbished Xboxes for sale.

Decide if you want to limit your choices to make the purchase easier. On the left-hand navigation, under Preferences, you can choose to view only auctions or only Buy It Now items (in which you pay the final price without bidding). You can choose to see only local sellers. You can select to see items with free shipping.

Browse through the ads and find the best deal for your needs. Many sellers offer free shipping and even bundle their units with games to sweeten the offer. Units that have been officially refurnished by the manufacturer will come with a warranty, so make sure the seller specifies the warranty in the ad. Also check the ad to make sure all of the accessories that would come with a newly purchased unit are included: cables, controllers, headsets. Always make sure that you know the shipping price. It's not such a great deal if the product is a steal but the shipping costs are outrageous.

Choose a seller that has made a lot of sales and gotten a very high positive feedback rating. This info can be found in the "Meet the Seller" section of the ad at the top right of the screen. More than one negative review over the past month should be a red flag.
