How to Throw a Knuckle Curve

One of the least common hybrid pitches is the knuckle curve. This pitch combines the curveball and knuckleball to create a pitch that doesn't rotate and drops when it reaches the plate. This pitch is very hard to master. If it doesn't come out of the hand correctly, it just spins without any break. However, when done correctly, the knuckle curve is a very hard pitch for batters to pick up.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Locate the stitches on the baseball that appear to create two parallel lines.

  2. Step 2

    Bend your index finger and place your knuckle on the left stitch from Step 1.

  3. Step 3

    Extend your middle finger straight and place it on the right stitch from Step 1.

  4. Step 4

    Support the baseball with your third and fourth fingers resting on the right side of the ball.

  5. Step 5

    Throw the ball using a curveball motion. When you release the ball, rotate your wrist as you let it go.
