How to Make CDs Using Limewire

LimeWire is a free program used to share files among users, generally music files. Because of the ease with which files are downloaded from LimeWire, it is a popular site for people who want to make audio CDs from the material they download. This article will explain how to make CDs using LimeWire.

  1. Step 1

    Use the resources link below to download and launch the free LimeWire program.

  2. Step 2

    Click once on the "Audio" section on the "Search" tab.

  3. Step 3

    Choose one or more "Audio" categories to search from: Title, Artist, Album, Genre and/or License Type.

  4. Step 4

    Type the information for which you want to search in the appropriate category fields. Click once on the "Search" button when finished.

  5. Step 5

    Click once on any audio file that you want to download from the search results.

  6. Step 6

    Click once on the "Download" button.

  7. Step 7

    Repeat steps 3 through 6 until you have as many songs as you want for your CD.

  8. Step 8

    Right-click once on the Windows "Start" button.

  9. Step 9

    Click once on the "Explore" option.

  10. Step 10

    Go to the folder you use to store LimeWire music files on your computer.

  11. Step 11

    Select all of the files you want to burn to a CD. To select more than one file, click once on a song and hold the "Ctrl" button down while clicking once individually on each additional file.

    Click once on the "Burn" button on the menu bar.

  13. Step 13

    Insert a blank CD into the CD burner drive on your computer when prompted to do so.

    Close the door on the drive.

  15. Step 15

    Enter a title for the CD in the "Disc Title" field when prompted to do so.

    Select the "Mastered" option under the "Show Formatting Options" section.

  17. Step 17

    Click once on the "Burn To Disc" button when the new window pops up with only the songs you selected to burn.

  18. Step 18

    Click once on the "Next" button on the "Burn To Disc" window after making any changes to the disc title or recording speed.

  19. Step 19

    Select the "Make an Audio CD" option, and click once on the "Next" button.

  20. Step 20

    Click once on the "Start Burn" button on the Windows Media Player window.

  21. Step 21

    Remove the disc from the drive when the process is finished. The drive will eject the disc automatically.

Tips & Warnings
  • This same process can be used for Frostwire as well.
  • Make certain you are familiar with local copyright laws. Be careful when downloading files from Frostwire with no license.
