Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Brand New Liner
  • Binder Clips
  • Hose
  • Water
  • Existing Pool In Need of New Liner
  1. Step 1
    Drain Water Pump
    Drain Water Pump

Drain the water out of the pool

  2. Step 2

Remove the old liner ( This involves disassembly of the top cap of the pool)

  3. Step 3

Inspect the pool walls for damage or rust. Make any repairs deemed necessary

  4. Step 4

Unpack the new liner carefully removing staples from the box or any other hazards

  5. Step 5

When positioning the liner make sure that the liner seams meet where the walls and the floor intersect. (Don’t be overly concerned about any minor wrinkles, they will be smoothed out when pool is filled)

  6. Step 6

Evenly pull the liner over the pool walls until just a small area in the center of the liner remains touching the ground. (The liner will be draped over the side walls as for now)

  7. Step 7

Replace the top cap of the pool wall over the liner but do not fasten it in place.

  8. Step 8

Begin adding water. At regular intervals when the water level begins to pull on the liner, remove portions of the top cap and allow more of the liner to come in contact with the ground.

  9. Step 9

Do the above step around the entire circumfrerence of the pool (This will remove any wrinkles in the liner)

  10. Step 10

Reposition the top cap for support. Repeat this process until the entire floor of the pool contains water.

  11. Step 11

Check the seams again to be sure they meet at the wall, and make any adjustments necessary. Once the entire pool contains 6 of water and the liner is satisfactorily positioned, the top cap of the pool wall may be fastened permanently to hold the liner in position

  12. Step 12

Continue filing the pool to the specified level.

Tips & Warnings
  • To improve life of your new pool liner, great care must be taken to maintain the chemical levels and to prevent the build up of debris and minerals in the pool.
  • When procuring a new liner, take note of the pool diameter and the depth. These figures will determine the correct size of liner to request. Do not assume that the cheapest liner is the best value. The thickness of material ( mil thickness) will correlate to the expected life of the liner as well as the warranty provide
  • Follow local laws when emptying out your pools. Some cities don't allow you to simply "throw" your pool water in the storm drain.
