How to greet someone in Arabic

This is just a quick and common way to greet someone using the Arabic language. These are common phrases used by arabic speaking people and/or Muslims worldwide. These phrases are very easy to remember and can be said every time you meet a new person you would like to greet in arabic.

      When you meet someone first say Assa-(Sounds like a in alpha) Laamu-Alai-kum. This means peace be unto you. It is a common greeting in the arabic language. The whole word in its entirety is, Assa-Laamu-Alaikum!

      The person will respond- Wa-a-lai-kum-salaam. This means and peace be unto you! You can also use this response if someone says the first step to you.

      You can then further the conversation by saying, Kayfa-ant? That means how are you. And the response is Ana-be-khair i.e. I am fine. Try not to be nervous and everything will work out fine. Good luck!
