Here are a few tips on how to sooth your crying baby. I'm not a professional... these are just ways that worked for me! Hope this helps!!!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PATIENCE!!!!!
  1. Step 1

My first and #1 tip is... the VACUUM!! Simply turn on the vacuum cleaner and WAH LA... crying (9 out of 10 times) stops!! I wish I would have known this with my first child. I recommend this to all my friends with new babies!!

  2. Step 2

Second (another one I wish I'd known about with my first child) is Gripe water. If your baby is crying non stop and arches their back a lot, check and see if their belly is hard. If so, they are most likely constipated. You can find Gripe Water at Walgreens or most drug stores. And trust me, it is worth EVERY penny! I wish they would have sold it at Costco or Sam's Club! I would have bought a whole case!!!

  3. Step 3

And of course, the more obvious ones... Rock your baby or walk around with them. Try to talk to them in a soothing and nurturing voice. Ask your doctor about switching formula (but don't switch around too much). Rub their belly.

  4. Step 4

My last tip (this doesn't always work for all babies)... My daughter LOVED to be naked, just in her diaper. As soon as I would take her clothes off she would stop crying. My mom said I was the same way. So if nothing else works, give that a try. It's worth a shot!!

    Hope this helps!!!! :)

Tips & Warnings
  • Always TRY to stay calm... your baby can tell when your upset.
  • REMEMBER... its OKAY to let your baby cry every once in a while!!! I know that's a tough one for new moms!
